Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized for her highly laudable performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter has won numerous awards, including her first Oscar for her role in the film Piano. Her career in acting started in Broadway with a variety of Broadway and Off Broadway projects. The art of acting has been a constant obsession. In the fifth grade she played Helen Keller in an original play. Following a bout of mumps, she went blind on the other side of her ear. But, it did not stop her ambition to pursue a career as an actress. When she was a teenager She studied acting and then moved to New York City. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and the pair collaborated to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart which was Hunter's debut film. She relocated to Los Angeles and tried to land films roles. The film, Swing Shift, she landed the role of a back-up. Over the past three decades, she has appeared on many TV and film shows. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame famous person as well as a winner of the Women in Film Lucy Award.
